Planning your Tablescape

A tablescape consists of the place settings, glass wear, candles, flowers, stationary, linens, and anything else you are including on your event tables. There are so many different ways to style flowers for your tables, here are some recommended for DIY.

Vases

If you're working with less flowers, try to find vases that make a statement on their own. To achieve a modern look, you’ll want the vases to work for you, not against you.

CERAMICS: Ceramic vases can be pricey, but are worth it if you are trying to achieve a modern look. They are also great to repurpose after the event.

GLASS: Glass vases are more cost effective. These are great for 1-3 stems, but if you're creating a centerpiece, a glass vase is harder to style because you cannot use the chicken wire inside as a base.

THE MOUTH: aka the vase opening. If you're going for the bud vase look, try to choose vases with a small mouth to make your product go further (1-3cm)

ALTERNATIVES: bowls, deep plates, interesting serving dishes, painting repurposed or thrifted vases, drawer organizers, candle holders, toothbrush holders, glass wear

BUDVASE: designed as a minimal look, a vase that holds 1-5 stems.

CENTERPIECE: designed as a standard sized flower arrangement

IKEBANA: The Japanese art of arranging flowers with interest and balance. Usually in a shallow bowl, dish or vase.
